Crawley Cineworld to become third cinema in UK to get 4DX experience with water, fog and wind

Crawley News (October 2, 2015)

CRAWLEY Cineworld is getting a total makeover which is going to include a brand new 4DX screen being installed with moving seats plus special effects including fog, lightning, rain and wind to give audiences an interactive feeling.

The cinema at Crawley Leisure Park is going to become only the third in the whole of the UK with a 4DX auditorium.

This innovative experience stimulates all five senses through high-tech motion seats which move in time with the action on screen and special effects to match wind, fog, lightning, bubbles and water.

It will also include the brand new 'rainstorm' effect to bring to life on-screen weather simulations.

It is going to be available in both 2D and 3D formats.

The new screen, which will have 136 specially designed seats plus a curved screen measuring 12m by 6.6m, will open at the cinema on November 19 to show the final film in the Hunger Games story.

The 15-screen cinema is getting a full upgrade with new spacious seats installed in every screen, as well as the foyer, bar area, concessions, and box office all being refitted.

Matthew Blinch, General Manager at Cineworld Crawley, said: "We're the third cinema in the whole of the UK to offer 4DX to our audiences and we cannot wait to welcome customers to come and try this new experience.

"We are always looking at the latest innovations in technology and we're confident Cineworld Crawley will be the best place to watch a movie."

Cineworld Crawley 4DX auditorium opens to the public on November 19 at 00.01 with a screening of the final instalment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Tickets will be available to pre-book shortly.
